Night Music
October 7, 2017 - October 18, 2017
“Night Music,” a series of paintings by Kay Ritter illustrating a charming story poem she wrote for children.
Night Music
The sun descends
Musicians rise.
They comb their hair,
They tie their ties.
When twilight falls the players meet.
Tonight’s quartet is now complete.
Down the lane they softly tread,
Sonatas stirring in their heads.
A forest clearing is the site,
For music offered to the night.
As tunes and rhythms cast their spell,
The audience begins to swell.
The music soars and with a sigh,
Embraces creatures, trees and sky.
A perfect moment all are one.
The harmony of earth is sung.
They take a bow and feel renewed.
A rose expresses gratitude.
Picking up, prepared to leave,
A thread of silence starts to weave.
With dawn now breaking in the east,
They wander home, their hearts at peace.
